Grob’s Basic Electronics. Hands down. Even an earlier, less expensive edition. One of the top books available.
A little bigger and covering subjects that are more advanced The book The Art of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill. The 3rd edition has just come out, and the 2nd edition is accessible for sale at a price of less than $40. One of the top books available.
Do not read the cutesy ones. I’m not impressed with any of the current batch of books written specifically for Arduino electronics. It’s like they spent a year learning electronics, and then put together the book. Poorly drawn schematics , mixed block diagrams/schematics, a lack of knowledge and more effort to be put into the covers and adorable cartoon-like illustrations than in the contents.
