- The applicants who meet the requirements should visit an Directorate of Emigration and Immigration office close to you and get an application form.
- Send the completed form along with the supporting documents (listed in the following) to the official in charge to be verified and processed.
- Make sure you pay the application fees

- A photocopy of the travel or passport book, depending on the situation This passport should be at minimum the age of six (06) months old.
- Costs of assembling this file (an amount that is equivalent to costs in effect at when the file was requested: refer to the costs)
- Card for Consular (photocopy)
Outside ECOWAS:

- Quitus (for communities that are subject to it)
- Deposit for repatriation to be made payable in cash to the Treasury (except for citizens of those countries who have entered into guarantees of cancellation of sureties with Benin
