  2. The next step is an audit of premises conducted by Dairy Development Authority to determine whether the premises of the milk seller conforms to the hygienic and operational specifications.

  4. Prior to the applicant being granted permission to set up a point for selling milk the Authority will verify that the applicant has met the criteria necessary to carry the business.

  6. The application should be accompanied by a fee that is specified in the fourth Schedule in the Regulations.
  7. The application, in along with the fees mentioned to earlier, be made sure that the structures must include:
    • The housing unit that is sold must have enough space enough to perform work in safe and hygienic conditions.
    • and design should allow for the placement of equipment in as to not hinder flow of product or personnel.
    • Construction materials must be safe for humans.
    • The materials must be impervious to water and not decomposable in the workplace, however this excludes the linings made of polyethylene.
    • The walls of the workplace must be clean, smooth and consistent in design.
    • Get regular advice from the Compliance Officers of DDA for the milk selling point, including how they should be planned and the the layout of equipment.
  8. When the Milk selling facility, call the closest DDA office to arrange for an initial examination at the location.
    • If areas of non-compliance are discovered during the inspections, changes must be made to ensure everything is in order.
  9. If everything is in order, you are able to move to the next step . You will need to apply for a milk seller license/ permit by submitting it to the Dairy Development Authority Licensing Board.
  10. After payment has been made, the Milk seller’s license will be issued within two days.
  11. The license is valid for a duration of one year. you are able to start your business immediately.
  12. Pay the monthly dues and levy when and where appropriate. Other requirements of the license’s issue must be followed (Non-compliance could result in suspension of the permit)
