Apply for Petroleum Wholesale Distribution License or Permit In Uganda By Online

  1. To get a petroleum wholesale distributor license or permit in Uganda the applicant must get in touch with to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
  2. Check that the company can be registered within Uganda.
  3. The company should seek an investment certification from Uganda Investment Authority.
  4. Also, obtain the Tax ID Number and tax clearance from the Uganda Revenue Authority.
  5. The applicant must get in touch with the department’s commissioner of petroleum supply to determine should you pay the cost of expert experts’ fees in advance.
  6. The applications forms are available at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
  7. Also, ensure that you have all relevant documents listed under the section Required Documents on this page.
  8. Pay slips are available by contacting the department of petroleum supply. Also, pay the application fee according to the guidelines you are given.
  9. A statement of environmental impact must be obtained for your project to allow for further consideration.
  10. The applicant must take necessary insurance coverage to guard against potential liabilities from the activities carried out in accordance with the petroleum exploration permit.
  11. The authorities will confirm the documents they have submitted, and examine the facilities and site that will be used for the project. If they’re satisfied with documentation and the facilities, the permit will be granted.

Required Documents For Apply for Petroleum Wholesale Distribution License or Permit

  • A document that details the applicant’s proposals in relation to the training and employment that citizens in Uganda and could be a statement of any other topic which the applicant wants the Minister to look into.
  • A declaration describing the details of work undertaken and the minimal cost of any block of that for which license is sought.
  • Fiscal Production Sharing Agreement with Government of Uganda.
  • If it is the body corporate, its name , location of incorporation, names and nationalities of the officers or directors equivalent to them and when the body is a share-holding company or shares, the name of the individual who holds the title of beneficial ownership for more than 5 percent of the capital of the shares issued.
  • Information about the financial situation as well as the industrial and technical expertise and experience of the candidate.
  • The applicant should arrange in a manner that is acceptable to the Minister in the signing of a bond or any other type of security in exchange for the performance and compliance with those conditions under which license could be to be.

  • Name address, address and nationality of the person applying. (If you are a body corporate, please include the corporate name, the registered office address and date the incorporation took place).
  • Tax Identification Number/VAT Registration Certificate.
  • Status of ownership as a corporate entity (sole proprietorship partnership, unincorporated business an incorporated private/public business, association or co-operative)
  • When the corporate body is registered outside of Uganda the proof of establishment of the business location in Uganda and registration as a foreign corporation as per.
  • The proposed location for the project (District county, parish, sub village, parish, county and village)
  • Dimensions of Plot (in Hectares) on which the facility will be built.
  • The date for when construction is expected to begin construction.
  • Estimated date for completion of the project.
  • Name, address and qualifications of the potential principle contractors and supervisors to be employed for the project or company to undertake the construction/modification.
  • The proof or the commitment of insurance to protect against third party liability and any other construction-related liabilities.
  • The description of the proposed project as well as the amount of capital investment that is backed by the Bank Reference Letter.
  • Description of safety programs equipment and plans to safeguard health and safety of workers and safety in the workplace, as well as the environmental during normal construction operations and contingency plans in case of accidents, natural disasters and emergency situations.
  • Other information that is important to be relevant for this particular application.
