A person who is applying of the Commercial Driving License for Taxis must:

  • Go to the office to the address of the applicant. For a list of places you are able to go, check out the ‘Office Locations & Contacts’ section of this page.
  • Meet in person
  • have an education qualification that is at least Class VIII or an equivalent qualification or equivalent qualification Monastic Institutes and produce original academic certificates as proof of their education;
  • Complete the prescribed application form
  • You must have had the Ordinary Driving License for at the very least two years.
  • Have achieved the minimum passing score for the selection Criteria of 5/3-Point turn (Practical Test) set in the Evaluation Form for Light Vehicle Driving Test in accordance with the requirements of the Authority;
  • Create a duplicate of the current passport size photo in the national dress of Bhutanese;
  • Create a citizenship Identity Card or other accepted identity documents for Bhutanese Nationals, passport or any other identification card for foreigners and
  • pay the prescribed amount of money
