Eligibility
To apply for an application for a Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) driver’s license, you must:
- Have reached 21,.
- Have a full Manx Driving license which entitles you to drive a car belonging to the relevant category or group. You must hold an FULL driving license for at least three years.
A PPV Driver license may be granted to applicants who is a holder of a full Driving licence for a minimum period of three years in a nation which is included within The Driving Licences (Foreign Licences) Regulations 2004. Anyone who has an entire Driver’s licence from a nation that is not included as a country in Regulations must also have a full driving licence. Regulations must also hold an IOM driving license for at least one year prior to when the PPV Driver license can be granted.
If minibus (group D1) driving licence was earned without the minibus test, you are restricted to driving the minibus that is a courtesy.

- Test of Knowledge: Applicants who intends to drive taxis, Private Hire Car, or Private Hire Minibus are required to pass a knowledge test.
