What are all the Eligibility

  • To be eligible for re-export of household items, you must leave Egypt to a foreign country. Additionally, the items need to be personal belongings that you owned and used while living in Egypt for a minimum of 12 months prior to leaving Egypt.
  • All household items that are re-exported are subject to the export tax and other duties as well as Good Service Tax assessment.
  • You must have been a nationalist private in Egypt or a foreigner who was posted to Egypt in order to stay for longer than 12 months with the intention to quit Egypt to move to another country.

In order to be eligible to re-export household goods, You must also be foreign national who is leaving Egypt to obtain permanent residence in a different country.

Instructions

The Document is required

When items originally brought into Egypt are absent from a shipment that was re-exported The shipper has to be responsible for the duty, regardless of whether the item is damaged.

These items are prohibited to export in Egypt.
  • Art and books are subject to examination at the Ministry of Culture prior to clearance.
  • New clothes will be taxed at an extremely high flat tax per item. Clothing items should not be utilized to get around this tax.
  • Computer discs, videotapes, CDs, cassettes, records scanners, printers, copiers as well as satellite receivers, will be examined by the Censorship
