The card displays your address and name as well as your CPR number, as well as the address and name of your physician. It is proof that you are eligible for medical care within Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The card is also required to be able to apply for an NemID.

It is mandatory to bring your health card with you when you visit your physician and also to the municipal offices. It can also be used in libraries, to identify yourself at post offices and in stores and many other places. We advise you to always have your health card in yellow in your wallet.
