Apply for Residence Permit in Dominica

  1. The application is comprised of two (2) forms: one medical form, and the checklist.
  2. The forms for application must be signed and completed by applicants. All questions on the forms should be addressed. The extension of stay on the passport must be filled in at the bottom of each form.
  3. A medical doctor must complete the medical form after examining by the person applying. HIV and chest x-rays tests must be reported and the results must be noted in medical documents.
  4. All documents required must be submitted along with the application. Otherwise, the application won’t be considered.

Required Documents For Residence Permit

  • Application Formulas
  • Medical certificate that states applicants are healthy and has not within the last three years had any disease that is communicable.
  • Two testimonials One of them should be from the applicant’s previous employer.
  • Statement of financial situation from a reliable banker of the applicant or the person taking the responsibility to the candidate.
  • Recent Police Records.
  • The applicant must prove that they have an return ticket to the place of residence or has paid an advance payment to pay for this ticket.
  • Two passport sized photos.
  • A valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months).
  • A photocopy Treasury receipt to prove the payment of the application fee.
  • Letter from the family member or friend of applicant accepting the responsibility of the applicant during his stay in Dominica.
  • Marriage certificate.
  • Letter of cover from applicant asking for permission.
  • Extension of Stay granted by Immigration Department is required during the time that an applications are being processed.

What are all the Eligibility

Anyone who wants to fill out the form to apply for the residence Permit to the first time must first present their passport.

  • Valid travel document (passport has to last at minimum six months prior the expiry date). If the passport does not have the required validity of six months the applicant has to renew their passport, and a form cannot be provided to the applicant.
  • Extension of Stay has to be requested at The Immigration Department and recorded in the passport. If the applicant’s immigration status is changed to Work or Residence Permit the status of the person remains as a visitor, so the request must include an the extension of stay. If the applicant fails to apply for an Extension of Stay he/she is on island in violation of law and won’t receive the application until their status as a visitor is recognized.

If the applicant meets the criteria above, an Application form for the applicant will be provided.

  • CARICOM Nation: EC$250.00
  • Non-CARICOM Nationals: EC$800.00
