Step 1.

  • Start by logging in to Uganda Revenue Authority Portal Uganda Revenue Authority.Login if you already have an account.If you’re not registered an account, click Register then follow the instructions on that page to set up your account.
  • Go to the URA web site Uganda Revenue Authority,and log in to your account. Log in using your TIN, password and login.

Step 2.

  • After you have logged in, visit the e-Return Service for individuals or non-individual from the Left Menu choose e-Returns. Then, choose which type of tax return you want to submit. (Point on e-returns to choose what type of returns that should file).

Step 3.

  • Download the template to complete the return you would like to file from the options available under Individual e-Services, for example VAT return forms for the month, and click the option to save.
  • It is best not to rename the uploaded file. When you rename it, you should not make space or use any character that is unique (! $ %^*()@\&'”#;:{}/\) i.e.Monthly_VAT_Return02 or Monthly_VAT_Return_2014

Step 4.

  • Download the template and start filling in the template allow macros to be enabled by following the directions on the sheet that is labeled help on the form that you downloaded. step 5.

  • After you have filled in all the necessary information, verify the return by clicking the VALIDATE button on last page of your return.

Step 6.

  • If there aren’t any errors, click yes to create an upload file. In the event of errors, go to the error sheet to correct the errors then save and verify the gain, then click yes to create one upload.

7. Step.

  • Save the uploaded file at the location you want it to be.

Step 8.

  • Return to the home page , and login to your account with the pass word and TIN as shown below.
  • After you log in, under the heading e-services, on the left click on E-Returns, and then select the kind of return you wish to save.

Step 9.Select the period for which the return is filed and then click on”check.

  • Fill in all the information required

Step 10.

  • Choose the return date in the text of the image in the format is displayed, then click browse to upload an uploaded file. Click upload to upload an online return.
  • If the form is not able to pass online validation, fix any errors that are noted on the template that you saved (from which you created your upload files) Save the file, verify it and create a new upload template.
  • Try uploading the file once more.

Step 11.

  • If your upload was successful Click Submit to send your return.
  • An electronic acknowledgement receipt will be generated, and one will be will be sent out to the address that was provided when registering and to the TIN account

Eligibility
