  1. A request of a tea-making license is to be submitted in written form to the Minister and must be accompanied by prescribed specifics or the form B, in the absence of any particulars are required, and with any other information the Minister deems essential.

  6. After your application has been approved, you will be notified to complete the fees required and provide payment information. The fee will be due after your application is approved and vetted through the Board.

  8. Once the proof of the payment is confirmed, a copy of Tea Manufacturing Licence will be issued within 30 days of the submission of the application with the necessary documents.

Fees

  • License fee of 2,000,000 Ugsh
  • The fee is due after your registration is verified and accepted. Do not make for a payment until asked to apply it.

The Document is required

  • The registration allows an organization to act as an agent for tea management in Uganda. It is not possible to operate as an tea Management agent in Uganda without being registered with TDA. Tea Development Agency (TDA)
  • An Tea Management Agent is a person or co-operative society, marketing board or business that is established by any law written in writing, who is appointed under an explicit management contract or an agreement with an individual or company to provide professional services to fulfill specific duties of the production, processing or marketing of tea , but does not comprise a buyer, broker or tea-packer.

Information that could be helpful

  1. The licensing authority will issue licenses to applicants subject to the legal conditions as the authority decides.
  2. Each license must define the location on which the company mentioned in the license is conducted.
  3. Licenses issued will remain in effect until the 30th of June after when the license was issued except if earlier was cancelled.

  8. An issue of licence to an applicant pursuant to the Act is not revoked without a reasonable reason.
