  1. Download the application form G at the passport control office within your area of residence. complete it. This must be done in conjunction with guardians, parents or the responsible adult in charge of minor.
  2. Make a written consent letter for the person who is responsible for the minor that is addressed at the passport office.
  3. Go to the nearest URA income collection banks, such for Bank of Africa, Diamond Trust Bank, Stanbic, Crane, Barclays, Orient etc . and pay passport fees. A Passport cost Uganda Shillings of UGX 250,000 in normal applications , or UGX 400,000 in Express applications(UGX 250,000 for normal processing plus UGX 150,000 express Service fee) For Official Passports, and UGX 500,000 in Diplomatic passports. All fees are exempt from bank charges that vary between banks i.e. UGX 2200-3000. UGX 3000, and you will receive the payment receipt.
  4. All documents you have prepared, as well as those as “required document” below, into an envelope with a manila folder. Then visit the ministry of interior affairs, or an office for passport controls or a regional office for immigration in your area.
  5. When you arrive at the office, hand in your passport and documents in the Manila folder to the officer in charge of passports located at the passport control section.

  5. The proof of receipt for payment is issued after the bank has received the payment.
  6. For those who are under the age of 18 years parents or a legal guardian’s signed consent must be obtained.
  7. For applicants who have been adopted, they must present the initial adoption certificate or the clearance letter from the department of children or the Court decision or award.
  • Step 11: Once you have submitted the application, the Minor passport is available to be collected from the Directorate of Citizenship and immigration control offices within two working days for express processing is completed or after 10 working days of normal processing.
  • Step 12: You are required to present proof of identity at the time of obtaining your passport. You can also track the application progress through your online account application ID Status https://www.passports.go.ug. You will be notified via either email or text message when it is time you are ready to pick up your passport.

Eligibility

Fees

The fees are in the following order

  • The normal passport costs 250,000 shs
  • Express service with 150,000 shs
  • Official/service passport cost 400,000 shs
