“To and from” permits for transporting cattle are issued for three months, but they cannot be issued to cattle other than transport cattle , except with the approval of a veterinarian officer and cannot be used on any route other than that mentioned within the permission.

HOW to apply

  1. Anyone who plans to transport animals to the district vet officer to request an inspecting the animal.
  2. Go to the operation area District Veterinary Officer with all the documents required and request the application form. Application for exporting cattle License
  3. Go through the application carefully, then ensure that you fill it out correctly and pay the suggested fees
  4. The district veterinarian then arranges for the inspection of animals and products of the animal.
  5. After a satisfactory review, the district veterinarian officer issues an Animal registration permit

Instructions

  • A person is not allowed to move or cause the movement of any sheep, cattle or goats in or out of an area of clean cattle, without being possessing an authorized movement permit that has been issued by a veterinarian.
  • A permit to move issued pursuant to this rule should statethe following:
  • The way to enter or exiting a clean cattle area
  • The initial measures that must be taken by the person responsible for goats, sheep, or cattle to avoid the spread or introduction of tick-borne diseases in cattle, and
  • Conditions, should there be there are any to be observed upon arrival at the area of clean cattle.
  • It is a crime to fabricate false information about the origins of any livestock or animal while applying for a permit to access to an unclean cattle area.

The Document is required

  • The certificate for registration of animals gives the right to transport live animals as well as animal products across districts and sub-counties. It is granted by district veterinarian officer (DVOs) to verify that the animals were not stolen and are healthy.

Animals’ movement

  • A person is not allowed to transfer across one Sub County to another any animal carcass, hide, or skin unless is in possession of an appropriate permit pursuant to these Rules.
  • The provisions of this rule do not apply to the regular movement of cattle with the intention of watering or grazing in close proximity to the kraal to which the cattle are typically kept.

The cancellation of permit

  • Permits can be cancelled at any point by any officer who inspects.
  • If there is an outbreak of illness, the inspecting officers will cancel or modify all permits as required.
  • A permit must accompany any carcasses or animals being moved. It must be issued upon the request of any police or inspecting officer, or any other person who is in charge of the land where they are moving.

Animals killed in reports relocated under permission.

  • The person responsible for any animal that is transported under a permit must immediately report any animal deaths relocated, as well as the details of any carcasses that were disposed of during the trip, to the inspector or deputy county chief who is closest to the location where the animals are permitted to be relocated.
