When a valid OCI card holder wants to cancel or renounce their OCI registration, it can be done by following the steps.

Application In Person

  • The applicant must apply in person at The Indian Mission/Post where OCI registration was granted.

  • Complete the application on the form XXII. link
  • Visit the office of your choice. Complete your application with all required documents to the office and follow their rules to start the procedure.
  • The application will then be processed to end or cancel OCI.

Required Documents For Cancel or Renounce OCI Card

  • OCI details
  • Evidence of current citizenship
  • Photocopy of passport that is valid (applicable in all instances) Valid for minimum six months from the date of application submission.
  • Birth date.
  • Proof of address of location of the application (Electricity bill/Telephone bill)
  • Aadhaar card (as as per the the requirement)
  • For minors
    • Passport of parent or guardian
    • Affidavit to be filed as per the requirement
