  • In order to apply to import goods in person, the applicant must first open a corporate account.
  • Next, he/she will need to register in the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal using his/her Tax ID Number and email address.
  • First, the person who wishes to register must contact/visit Federal Inland Revenue Services where he/she obtained a TIN. He/she will need one valid email address and mobile number along with the identification details of any other company as required by FIRS.
  • After you’ve completed the previous step, you can go to the following link and complete your registration: apply on-line. Enter your TIN number, email ID, and text image into the fields, then click the “Validate” button.
  • Follow these instructions to complete the registration. Then, the importer should be proceeding to apply and get the permits required for the product of import.
  • To activate the Product Certificate, which is necessary for the assessment process during import, applicants must go to the following link: apply online

  • Click on the link and then click on the “click here to activate product certificate” hyperlink. Enter your TIN into the provided field and click the “Validate button”. You will then be taken to the Certificate activation portal. To activate it, you will need to enter your Product certificate number.
  • Follow the instructions on screen to activate the certificate. After activation, you can submit an E form M online through the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal. Click the link below to access the portal: apply Online
  • Once you have opened the page, enter your login credentials and click the “Login” button. Once you have logged in, click the “Agencies” menu at the top. Select the “CBN” option.
  • On the next page, the CBN Services can be found on the left. To access them, click the “Form (A), M, NCXX, NXP” drop-down menu, and then select the “Fill Form” option.
  • Once you have completed the online application form, it will open. Please enter all details that are required. You’ll also need to upload certain documents, which can be found in the next section.
  • After submitting the application with all required documents, it will then be validated and sent to Nigeria Customs Service. They will accept or reject the form M depending on its sufficiency.
  • Once the form is approved, it should then be sent to the exporter for any necessary inspection.
  • The applicant must also activate a Certificate of Conformity. To do this, visit the following link apply online. Click on the link and then enter your TIN into the box. Then click the “click here to activate SONCAP Certificate”.
  • You will then be redirected to the Certificate activation portal. Here you will need to enter your SONCAP number to activate it. Follow the instructions to activate the certificate.
  • The applicant must apply for a Pre Assessment Arrival Report (PAAR), if applicable. Go to the following link Apply online. Click “PAAR Consignment”, then select “Fill Consignment”.
  • Enter your login credentials on the next page and then click the “Login” button. Once you log in, you will see your application page. Fill it out with all required information and click the appropriate button to submit it.
  • After the PAAR has been issued the importer should visit Customs to proceed with the import product clearance.
  • The importer must submit any required import manifest on behalf of the shipping companies.
  • The authorities will also direct the importer to pay any applicable fees. The customs department will approve your import if all required documents and processes have been completed.
  • Once all processes are completed, you can collect your goods at the delivery location.

What are all the Eligibility

  • Any Nigerian organization that wants to be involved in import business with foreign countries can apply.
  • An organisation must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
  • An Incorporation Certificate must be obtained by the organisation.
  • The applicant entity must be properly registered with Federal Inland Revenue Services of Nigeria (FIRSS) and have a Tax Identification number.
