Obtain Certificate of Recognition for Caribbean Community Skills In Jamaica By Yourself
- If you are a qualified graduate and meet the requirements for the Certificate of Recognition of Caribbean Community Skills Person, you can submit your application to Ministry of Labour and Social Security. The Link MLSS office information can be viewed here
- First, contact MLSS and let them know that you are interested in applying for the recognition certificate of the Caribbean Community and Common Market.
- The MLSS will review your request and determine if the certificate is available to you.
- Once they have determined that you are eligible, you will receive an email with an application form.
- Completion of the application form according to the instructions and attachments of all supporting documents in one fill
- Pay the processing fee, get the payment receipt, and attach it with the completed application
- After your completed application and any supporting documents have been signed, stamped and certified, submit the entire application, including the payment receipt, to the work permit section of the MLSS office.
- The relevant officials will verify your application and, if it meets the requirements, approve and process it.
- After processing, you will need to pay the certificate fee and then collect it from the MLSS. You can also send a representative to collect and pay the certificate for you
Required Documents For Certificate of Recognition for Caribbean Community Skills
- The Ministry of Labour’s Office must receive a completed application form.
- A certified copy of University degree, Associate degree, Diploma, or Professional qualification (ACCA, AT, etc.). Certificate NCTVET Level 2 (HEART/TRUST NA) for Domestic Workers and Artisans ONLY (NOT A TRANSCRIPT).
- A certified copy of the passport page (includes bio-data and expiry dates)
- A certified copy the Birth Certificate
- If necessary, a deed poll/other documents supporting the name change.
- Three passport-sized certified photographs
- For the last three years, police reports from the country where you live.
Dependents must provide the following documents:
- A certified copy the Birth Certificate
- Copy certified of passport page
- Three passport-sized certified photographs
- If the applicant’s name does not appear on the birth certificate, the applicant must sign a Declaration before a Justice of the Peace/Notary public by two people who were aware of the birth declaring that he/she is the parent.
- Adoption papers (for adopted kids)
- Marriage certificate (in the case of wife/husband).
- If either the husband or wife have been divorced, a copy of the Decree Absolute must be certified by a Justice of the Peace/Notary public.
- If the former spouse or husband has died, a certified copy of their death certificate

Eligibility
- The Certificate of Recognition is available to graduates with degrees who are from CARICOM countries that are signator to the agreement.
Fees
- Application Fee: $2,000
- The Certificate Fee is $8,000
- Each Dependent $2,000
- Ersatz Fee $3,000
- Amendment Fee $2,000
Validity
- CARICOM nationals can stay for six months after the certificate has been issued.
Processing Time
- Within two months, the application will be processed

You will need the document
