Obtain Permit to Import Milk Powder (Retailer) In Jamaica By Online
- You can apply online for a permit to import milk powder as a retailer through the Electronic Single Window portal (Jamaica Single Window for Trade). To create an account, visit the JSWIFT Website – JSWIFT Website.
- After logging into your Dashboard account, click on “ Permit“, then select “ New” to access the online application form.
- Click on General Information and click on “ Regime“. Then, select “ Import“.
- To access the “Items Detail” page, complete the required information.
- To find the “Milk Powder Import Permit-Retailer”, click on the “ Process” box. After filling in the details, click on “ Next“. This will take you to the Attachment page.
- Attach all required documents according to instructions and click on “ Next” to go to the fees page.
- You will find the fee summary on the fees page. Click the “ Submit” button.
- A pop-up notification will be sent to you confirming that your permit application has been submitted and the registration number.
- Go to your dashboard, click on “ Accounting“, then click on “ payment Order“, and choose “ New“. To proceed to the payment page and pay the import permit fee online.
- Your application status will change to paid after payment. The application will then be sent to the Trade Board Limited (TBL) relevant certification officer.
- The officer will review the application and ensure it meets the requirements for the Milk Powder Import Permit as a Retailer.
- Trade Board Limited (TBL), will then conduct due diligence, including inspecting your premises to ensure compliance with the requirements. The Trade Board Limited will update the application results as Approved or Rejected or Request updates.
- Notification of the results of your application will be sent to your email address. If the application is approved, a printed copy of the Milk Powder import permit will be sent to you.
- Sign the import permit, then go to the Trade Board Limited (TBL), office to have it authenticated.
- Send the permit to TBL’s certificate officer. He will sign and stamp the permit, then return it.
If your application is denied, you will be notified and, if necessary, you will be required to amend the application in order to have it processed.
