Registration of Pakistani vessels will be performed by the Principal Official (Registrar of Ships), Mercantile Marine Department, Karachi, on an application form that is submitted by individuals who are qualified to own vessels under M.S.O. 2001, as per Annex-A. The declaration must be signed by the Registry of Ships by the person applying.

  • Providing that the certificates will be valid three months.

The registrar could, decide to require additional documents to confirm the information supplied by the applicant, as he is appropriate and necessary.
The registrar can issue a certificate of registration with any limitations or endorsements as he deems appropriate.
The competent authority can cancel or suspend registration of a chartered bareboat vessel upon receiving information it concludes that the it was registered on incomplete or incorrect information or if the charterer fails to meet the conditions set forth in these regulations.
