Register as an Importer of Fairground Meat or Meat Products In Ivory Coast By Yourself

  • Companies based in Abidjan should visit Abidjan’s Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources (MIRAH), Department of Livestock Productions (DPE) or Sub-Department of Supply and Market Regulators and companies based outside Abidjan must visit the Prefecture office close to them and make an inquiry at the front desk.
  • Take the registration request form from the registration desk, and fill it in accurately.
  • Send the completed form, along with additional evidence (listed further below) to the official in charge to be verified.
  • Make the necessary processing charges in cash at the Department of Veterinary Services (DSV) cash counter. Upon which you will receive a an invoice.
  • The Veterinary Services (DSV) Department will send an inspector/health officer to the premises of the facility to inspect the premises to ensure Good Cold Storage, Manufacturing and Distribution Practice are being followed.
  • The report’s findings is given to applicants and If any change or enhancement is needed, Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) report will be issued and you will have to correct the problem.
  • If the CAPA is implemented successfully CAPA A follow-up inspection could be carried out by the team conducting the inspection to determine the effectiveness of the CAPA’s implementation (where appropriate).
  • If the veterinarian approves of the conclusions of the follow-up report the inspector will issue you with a certificate from a veterinarian.
  • A Inter-ministerial Commission (chaired by the Ministry responsible for Trade) has meetings twice (2) times a year to review the findings of all reports, dossiers of applications and issue certificates of authorizations to import to those who meet the conditions required to be met for the submission.
  • You will be informed about the outcome via email, phone or in person, and then you will be issued with a document of the registration of an importer for fairground meat or other products. The register will notify you of the outcome.
  • The list of approved applicants (individuals/businesses/companies) will then be gazetted by the Inter-ministerial Decrees.

  • The file of the person who is the head or the manager of the company with all the documents listed above.
  • Declaring the Tax Existence (Cf. General Sheet on Imports).
  • A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection is issued to the premises of the business.
  • The Receipt of Payment for charges related to the file of application to the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources.

The document is needed

  • Therefore, importers of fairground or other meat-based products have to obtain a professional authorization certificate/card for fairground meat and product from the minister in order to be able to import these products into Ivory Coast.
