Register as an Importer of Milk and Derived Product In Ivory Coast By Yourself

  • Companies that are located in Abidjan must visit Abidjan’s Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources (MIRAH), Department of Veterinary Services Division (DSV), Sub-Directorate of Hygiene and Food Sanitary Safety (SDHSSA) and those based in other areas of Abidjan are advised to go to the Prefecture office in their vicinity and register their interest at the front desk.
  • Request a registration form at the registration or service desk, make sure you fill it out accurately.
  • Complete the request form and additional documentation (listed further below) to the official who will be attending to be verified.
  • Pay the processing fees in cash at the Department of Veterinary Services (DSV) cash counter. Upon which you will receive receipt.
  • The Department of Hygiene and Food Sanitary Safety (SDHSSA) will send an inspector/health office to the facility’s premises for an inspection to ensure that the quality of Cold Storage, Manufacturing and Distribution Practice are in place.
  • An exact copy of report’s findings will be provided an applicant and If any change or upgrade is required, Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) report will be issued and you will have to correct the problem.
  • After the successful implementation of the CAPA Following the successful implementation of the CAPA, a follow-up audit can be conducted by the inspectors to determine the effectiveness of the CAPA’s implementation (where appropriate).
  • A Inter-ministerial Commission (chaired by the Ministry responsible for Trade) is scheduled to meet at minimum two (2) every year to look over the findings of the report, the applications dossiers, and issue the certificates of import authorization to those who fulfilled the conditions specified in the application.

  • Certificate of the location of the exercise facility (Town Hall of the Municipality in question).
  • A Certificate of Visit as well as Counter Visit along with an X-ray pulmonary of the manager as well as the staff who manage their food (public hospital).
  • Employees’ list (Applicant).
  • Declaration of Fiscal Existence (DFE) Taxes.
  • A Veterinary Inspection Certification (Veterinary Inspection Service at the Directorate of Veterinary Services, DSV).

The Document is required

        • In the spirit of Decree Nr. 83-808 from the 3rd of August, 1983, and Decree n@93-312 of the 11th of March 1993, it establishes the conditions to exercise professions in the importation of food products for consumption by humans and animals.
        • Therefore, importers of dairy products and related products must get an Authorization Importer Certificate for milk and related goods from the minister in order to be able import these products into Ivory Coast.
