Required Documents For Register Marriage

  • Photocopy and original of the identification certificate of both spouses (if one spouse is a foreign national, they must be able to show the legal document needed to gain entry into Macao (such as the Original and photocopies of passport and the authorization title for entry);
  • Birth certificates for both of your spouses (if you are unable to be present, but with the approval of the Conservatoire, are able to bring two witnesses to prove the authenticity of your name):
    • People who are native of Macao and have their birth registration recorded in this Conservatory is exempt from the submission of the appropriate certification;

  • Other documents:
    • (a) Individuals who aren’t ordinarily residents in Macao must provide evidence of their civil status granted by authorities in the state where they live (issuance that is not longer than six months) and provide two witnesses for verification;
    • 2.) Presenting a single certificate, which is issued by the relevant authorities to Macao SAR holders stating their marital status as a married person is exempt. They must also prove that they hold an identity or passport from a different state, no matter their date of their residence in Macao;
    • 3.) In the event that the partner is divorced or widowed or divorced, they has to provide evidence of that the divorce of the previous marriage, if that factual information within this Conservatory is not required to be accompanied by the distribution of the relevant document.
  • If the couple has signed an agreement prenuptial that must be signed to the Conservatory until the day of the wedding or announced at the Conservatory after the marriage ceremony begins (in case there is no prenuptial contract the marriage is believed to have been completed in accordance with the rules of shares purchased).

Eligibility

  • One spouse must reside in Macao.

NOTE: Minors over 16 years old but under the age of 18 years old must get permission from the holder of parental authority or the guardian of their legal supply. to ensure the successful completion of the wedding.

Fees

  • To organize the marriage ceremony for the wedding ceremony: MOP 150.00 plus stamp duty (varies depending on the amount of sheets involved in this process);

There are two locations currently available to celebrate weddings One is located on the Macau peninsula, and the other located on Taipa Island. Once they have received the approval for the weddingceremony, couples may choose to book either online and during working hours contact the number 28550110 to select the wedding venue:

  1. The Macao Wedding Hall is located in the Civil Registry Office located on the 2nd floor of the Public Administration Building. The hours of operation are 2nd, 4th, and 6th, from 10h45 till 13h00.
  2. The wedding Hall of Taipa is located at Largo do Carmo. The hours of operation are 3rd and 5th at 11:00. Visit hours: All day from 9:00 until 18:30 (except those dates 1 January and all three of the days leading up to Lunar New Year, Day of the Dead (Cheng Ming) May 1 Day After of the Lunar Cake (Chong Chao) and October 1. the day of worship of the Ancestors (Chong Yeong) and the 20th of December).
