  • Applicants (Individuals/Companies/businesses) located in Abidjan should visit the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources (MIRAH), Department of Livestock Productions (DPE) Sub-Directorate of Genetic Resources (SDRG) & Sub-Directorate of Animal Health and ones located outside Abidjan should visit the Prefecture office near them and express their interest at the service desk.
  • Request a registration form from the registration desk. make sure you fill it out accurately.
  • Send the completed form with all supporting documents to the official to verify.
  • Pay the processing fees on the Department of Veterinary Services (DSV) cash counter, on which you will be issued with a receipt.
  • The Veterinary Services Division (DSV) will send an inspector/health officer to the premises of the facility for inspection to confirm that Good Cold Storage, Manufacturing and Distribution Practice are in place.
  • An exact copy of report findings is given an applicant and If any change or enhancement is needed, Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) report will be issued and you will have to fix the issue.
  • After the successful implementation of the CAPA Following the successful implementation of the CAPA, a follow-up audit could be carried out by the inspectors to determine the effectiveness of the CAPA’s implementation (where appropriate).
  • When the examiner is pleased with the subsequent inspection report the pet will receive an animal certificate.
  • The Inter-ministerial Commission (chaired by the Ministry responsible for Trade) is formed to meet and review the findings of the report application files, and issue the certificate of authorization for importation to applicants who meet the conditions in the request.
  • You will be informed of the decision via mail, telephone or in person, and then you will be issued with a Certificate of Registration as an Importer for Animals seeds and genetic materials through the register.

In conformity with Decree No. 83-744 of the 28th of July 1983, establishing the conditions for the exercising of trade professions in animals, animal products and animals intended for consumption by humans, the practice in the field of an importer of animal feed requires an Approval from a Joint Order by the Minister in charge of Trade and the Minister of Animal and Fishery Resources (MIRAH) (MIRAH) Department of Livestock Productions / Sub-Department for Genetic Resources ( SDRG) & Animal Health Sub-Directorate (SDSA).
