How To Replace Lost / Stolen Passport In Chile
- To get a new passport, you must go to the closest civil registry bureau, or when you’re in another country, the closest Chilean consulate.
- Fill out an application.
- Send in the completed application the Chilean ID card, passport and photographs.
- Make payment for the fee of application.

- Two or four passport-sized images (4.5 by 4.5 cm) with black and white , or color with white background (photos are required in consulates that don’t have reading machines).The photos must show a full-face , front perspective in which the visa applicant is looking at direct to the camera.

The validity of passports is five (5) years.
Processing Time
At present passports are issued by machines-readable information Capturing process within the Civil Registry. This is why the timing of the delivery is different since they are sent by Santiago through the Consulates.
