  1. To register as an Entertainment Practitioner either as an Individual or Company, you should submit your complete application to the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport (MCGES) through the E-Registry system (National Registry of Entertainment and Creative IndustriesPractitioners). You can access the Link contact information for MCGES (eregistry).
  2. To complete your registration and register as an “Entertainment and Creative Industries Practitioner”, you can either visit the MCGES offices in person or send an email asking for the application form. The form will be sent directly to your email address.
  3. Completion of the application form in triplet is required. Attach all documents, e.g. your Tax Registration Number (TRN).
  4. After the form/s and all the required supporting documents have been completed, signed, stamped, and certified where required, scan all the three signed copies of the documents and submit them to the MCGES’s Entertainment Registry via their email address: registry@mcges.gov.jm or in person at the MCGES office. All requests should be addressed directly to the Permanent Secretary.
  5. Upon receipt, MCGES will review the application and all submitted documents in order to determine if it is complete.
  6. JAMPRO and the MCGES will review your application to verify that it is legitimate.
  7. After verification, MCGES will visit your facility with the Jamaica Promotions Corporation.
  8. They will then prepare a formal report on your application and submit it to the Ministry for review
  9. The ministry will then forward your application to the following agencies for approval and records: The Incentives Unit of Jamaica Customs Agency JCA and The Legal Support Division of Tax Administration Jamaica JTA.
  10. You will then be informed about the status of your application, whether it has been rejected or approved.
  11. Once the final decision is made and the application has been approved, the JCA will input your information into the Automated Systems for Customs Data platform (ASYCUDA).
  12. Finally, MCGES will notify you that your Entertainment Practitioner/Producer Status has been approved and you will be issued a written notification of your Entertainment Practitioner/Producer Status and you will be able to gain access to incentive benefits related to the entertainment/creative industries sector

  2. To be taken to the registration page, click on the “Registration” link in the information bar
  3. Please read the information provided and decide if you want to register as an individual Entertainment practitioner or an Entertainment Company.

For Producer/Practitioner Status (Existing Company):

  • Valid National Identification (Passport/Driver’s Licence/National ID).

To entities that are building production facilities. The following documents should be submitted with your submission:

  • Approved Building plans: Plans should have been approved and signed off by the appropriate Municipal Corporation (for properties that are new or undergoing structural alteration, expansion, or both).
  • Management/Lease Agreements: If the owner is not the same person, a copy of the agreement should be provided
  • Letter of financial commitment: From the financier/funding entity that is undertaking the development
