What are the components of an electric car?

The essential parts of an electric vehicle project:

  1. Motor brushless DC motor minimum 3-4 kW, or three-phase induction motor
  2. Motor controller: This converts the DC voltage fixed to variable multiphase sequential pulses, or three phase pulses, and feeds power to motor by changing the DC voltage into variable multiphase sequence pulses. This motor cannot be controlled without it.
  3. Batteries are commonly made from sealed lead acid, AGM or lithium-ion packs rated 48 to 300 V.
  4. It is also known as a torque amplifier. A two-speed automatic transmission is often made up of a single planetary set.
  5. A battery charger is a device that charges your battery when it runs low.
  6. Electronic throttle: This is the speed input device for the car’s motor controller.

A charger is pre-installed in some Chinese mini EVs that cost up to 3000 USD. These cars have a maximum speed of 40-60 kmph depending on their model and a range of minimum 80 km. These cars have a 3 kw traction motor. These cars can also carry up to four people. To legally operate on China’s public roads, these cars don’t require a Chinese driving license.

This Land Rover-like lookalike is actually a mini EV manufactured in China. It’s a LongerX1. Mini EVs are primarily made in hatchbacks.
