Batteries will not die for long periods of time. Many individual cells make up the batteries, which are smaller than flashlight cells. There are many companies that disassemble EV batteries and replace the weakest ones. Recycled batteries can be used in an EV again or for another purpose, such as storage of electrical grids. All of the lead-acid car batteries can be recycled, but the weak cells that were removed during refurbishment will eventually be used to recycle the metals. Because the new designs and chemistry use the metals from an old battery, they can be used to create several new batteries.
