What is the difference between Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering?

Electronics being the common factor across both branches, it is a given that students from both branches can compete to get jobs in the above mentioned stream.

The latter holds the upper hand when you consider the core of both branches, namely communication and instrumentation.

Communication is not an independent stream that generates many jobs. Companies don’t often look for students specializing ECE to fill the job.

For instrumentation jobs, however, you will need to be a specialist student in this branch. This is especially true if your goal is to get a job at a PSU.

Automation is the future for the manufacturing industry. India is playing catch-up. Instrumentation engineers will continue to be in high demand.

All the best! !
