- To apply for an Export License under the Control of Goods, the exporter must apply to for approval from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism the trade department. Contact Link
- Exporters must obtain the application form via the Malawi Trade Portal: Link or get this form from Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism or from the department of trade.
- Complete the application in the correct manner and attach the required documents listed under section “Required Documents” section below.
- Then, pay the application fee and get the confirmation of payment.
- Complete the application form and submit it in the direction of commerce to be verified.
- The department will review the application and send the application to be approved.
- The Ministry then will accept the application and will then direct the process of obtaining the license. This usually takes about 5 working days.
- After processing, you’ll need to get the authorization from the Department of Trade.
