PROCESS for CITIZEN and non CITIZENS of HONG KONG – For both residents of HONG KONG and outside HONG KONG:

I.Apply to Hong Kong

      • The applicant should apply to the office of Hong Police Force(address given below).

      • The applicant must collect the application form from the office after paying the amount required. Or, they could fill in and print it from the portal online: Application

      • On the day you have been scheduled when you are scheduled to go to work, visit the office. Make sure to bring the necessary documents and original documents in the offices.
      • Talk to the authority to discuss your requirements. According to the guidelines of the authorities, you need to submit your application with the required documents.
      • The applicant must make payment for certificate in accordance with the procedure instructed. All applicants must be willing to having the fingerprints of their applicants taken.
      • The application that is accepted is processed by the the respective department
      • It will issue the certificate once it is notified. In a few instances, the certificate is sent directly via postmarked mail addressed to the appropriate Consulate or Immigration Authority / Government Authority.

II. Application procedure – abroad

a. Mail(Post)

  • The applicant must fill out the application form and attach certified copies of the required documents, and a proof of the fees that are paid (A bank draft for the value of HK$225 for each person by cheque payable to “The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”. The draft should be made payable to Hong Kong) for applying via mail(address as listed below).

  • Applicant must submit the complete set of fingerprints that have been taken and verified by a respected department of law enforcement or police in the area where the applicant is currently.
  • This application will be reviewed by the relevant department.
  • It will issue the certificate after being it is notified. In a few instances, the certificate will be sent directly by certified mail directly to the appropriate Consulate or Immigration Authority / Government Authority.

Specific to a country

  • A valid identity document (identity card or passport, driving licence, etc.))
  • Hong Kong Identity Card or valid Travel Document
  • The original and an imagecopy (for every candidate) of a formal letter from the relevant Consulate/ Immigration Authority / Government Authority in order to obtain this document.

Foreign national

  • A duplicate of your passport when staying there. Hong Kong.
  • A duplicate of your permit for your stay within Hong Kong, passport number and the location where it was issued as well.

What are all the Eligibility

  • The applicant must have a valid passport and an address proof that is valid.
  • Age limit: old and over. If minors are involved applications must be made by the parent with parental authority, if minor is not yet 16 yet.
  • The location of the applicant should be identical to the address on the passport as well as other documents supporting it.
  • The applicants must be in need of residence status, employment or a long time visas, or who are seeking to move to a foreign country.

Fees

  • Processing fee of HK$225 for each person.
  • Cash or Octopus cards or EPS as well as crossed cheques made payable in favour of “The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region” are accepted.
  • Service of adding value offered for Octopus cards are not offered in this location.
  • The fee varies from each instance. A new fee requirement will be made available by the appropriate authorities when applying.

Processing Time

    • Four weeks of calendars.

The processing time varies according to the country where the application was made.

Instructions

  • The complete fingerprints include the impressions on each of the fingers, the simple impression of four fingers on the right and left hand, taken at the same time, and the impressions of thumbs that are plain. The certification of fingerprints must clearly declare:
