What are all the Eligibility

  • If the funeral director is in charge of arrangements for funerals they will gather all the necessary information and forward the information the necessary information to Births, Deaths and Marriages to register.
  • In the event that a funeral director not involved in the funeral arrangements, the person responsible for funeral arrangements is accountable to notify Births, Deaths and Marriages of the death.

Fees

There is no cost for notifying the death.

Instructions

  • Within three days of the funeral or cremation, The Notification of death Form must be submitted to Births, Deaths , and Marriages.
  • Contact Births and Deaths, as well as Marriages, to make arrangements to have an Notification of Death to Registration (BDM 28) form delivered to you.
  • There is no cost to register the death.
  • A death certificate is obtained when the death is registered by filling out the section for ordering on the Notification of Death for Registration (BDM 28) form and also including the fee for the certificate.
  • Once the death is recorded, a death certificates is issued.
