Apply for Travel Documents for Refugees In Ireland By Online
- Make an application to INIS’s Travel Document Unit of INIS by using the latest Version of the travel document application form.
- Complete the form and submit it together with the other documents.
- The application fees must be paid.
- You’ll need to wait about 4-6 weeks for the application to be processed . After that, your travel documents will be sent to your address via registered mail. Should your application be rejected, the applicant will receive a notification by letter. We advise you not to make arrangements to travel until you receive your travel documents.

Eligibility
- Are granted the status of refugee in accordance with the Geneva Convention of 1951
- Are you a family member of a refugee status, who has been granted family reunion
- They were declared stateless as per the New York Convention of 1954
- Are granted secondary protection. (Family members who are granted the right to stay in Ireland in this way can also submit a request for travel permit.)
- They were declared to be a Programme refugee as per Section 24 in the Refugee Act 1996 as amended

Instructions
- The applicants who qualify can apply for an entry permit to travel to the Minister of Justice and Equality .
- Your children require a travel documents. The application of a child must be supported by the birth certificate of the child and proof that the child lives in Ireland. Travel documents for children between 5 and 17 can be used for as long as 10 years. A travel document issued to children under the age of five is valid five years or more.
