- Go to the relevant authority.
- Complete the application form by providing all the information needed. A lawyer who has been appointed must complete every detail required, including name of the lawyer, MyKad number or ID number, and then affix the lawyers official stamp on Section C in the applicant form.
- Make sure you have all the documents required.
- Pay the fee as per the schedule.

- For the extract of the marriage registers For extract of marriage register RM 5.00
- For marriage register extract in English version RM 10.00
- For a copy of the marriage registry in accordance with the Registration of Marriages Ordinance 1952 The cost is RM 4.00
