Application In Person

  1. Learn all the details about the crime , such as duration, nature, if there’s a any loss in life or damage to property witnesses, clues, and other information which could assist the police in identifying the perpetrators.
  2. Call the fire brigade, police or ambulance via their emergency numbers, to ensure that they can report on the site of the incident or crime.
  3. If the incident or crime doesn’t require urgent response, you can go to your nearest station and file the report (record the statement) The officer will then document the account of the incident. If the case is extremely complex or urgent, it may be sent to the Chief of the Officer in Charge of Station for evaluation, on which you will be given an identification number for the case.
  4. If you are involved in a crime or incident where an injury to the person has been caused will be issued with an assessment form for medical reasons, which is provided free at any police station. The form must be filled out by the police officer who has received the report of crime and medical examiner.
  5. If there is a loss of property, the officers will release an abstract containing the particulars of the property lost, and, in the event of a road crash, an abstract of the accident will be issued.
  6. The police officers will be sent to the spot to look into the incident immediately and prepare a report findings. They will then decide if they should detain, summon or give a warrant for arrest to the accused or perpetrator the matter will be sent to the law court in order to be resolved.
