Apply For Renewal of Radio and Television License in Egypt
- A person who is applying for renewal of the Broadcasting Radio and Television license must follow the following steps to renew.
- The first step
The applicant for renewal should send a formal letter and mail it to the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) in Egypt in order to apply for renewal of the broadcasting license. This should be done within six months prior to the expiration date of the license.
- Second step
The applicant must satisfy all administrative and financial obligations from the Union and then attach all receipts to the application form to prove that they have paid.
Notably, no renewal is possible with an earlier balance in that of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU).
- 3. Step
Make sure you submit with at least 15 copies of your application to Director General of the Egyptian Authority for Broadcasting in Egypt (EBA)through the authority Zone Director within the region you are operating in. The application should contain the following:
- Licenses expiring on application commitments expire according to the schedule 2 in The Egyptian broadcasting authority.

- A thorough report of your completeness to the statements of intention regarding your birthplace in Egypt.
- The submission of the quarterly schedule is with a synopsis of the program that are listed.
- A logbook to record transmitted programmes.

- Fourth step
After receiving the application the Broadcasting will hold a public hearing as part of the licence renewal process. This will be for the public review of the broadcasting stations affected in Egypt.
- Phase Five
The next stage will be visit of the station by employees of the Egyptian Authority for Broadcasting in Egypt to look over the station and make a decision regarding the equipment and the logbook for the station. The main purpose of their visiting will be to look at those areas.

- Present Tax Clearance Certificate or a document indicating tax waivers should be obtained and included with the submission.
- True and certified replica of Articles as well as Memorandum of Association.

- The process to obtain an extension of broadcast licence according to the guidelines of The Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) in Egypt with a fee of just five thousand (5,000) for operating radio, television satellite, or other broadcasting medium from any part of Egypt.
- Anyone who is considering applying for radio or television services must be aware that the frequencies used by these services are extremely sought after. In the past the Union received about 5,000 requests every year from people who wanted to establish radio broadcast stations.
- Since then, the need for radio broadcast stations has increased as the spectrum that is available has decreased.
- You must be aware at the beginning that the filing of an application will not assure you that you will receive the broadcast station construction permit. It is also important to consider that in some regions of the United States there may not be any frequencies available for a new station can begin operation without interfering with existing stations, which is a violation of FCC regulations.
- It is important to know that broadcasting without a license stations is not permitted even at lower power levels like 1 Watt or less. The only operation that is unlicensed that is allowed in the FM and AM broadcast bands is permitted under Section 15 of FCC’s regulations and is limited to a range that is approximately 200 feet. The unlicensed operation is not permitted in the television channels. Criminal or fines may result from the operating an unlicensed station.
