Apply for Biometric Passport in Nigeria in online
- To apply for an Biometric Passport, online the person applying must go to the Nigerian Immigration Portal by clicking the link below: apply online
- On the next page open, select”Passport”. On the next page, click on the “Passport” tab. Find that category for Passport you wish to apply for and select”Apply” below that “Apply” button that is below it. The application form for this particular type of passport will be displayed.
- Fill in all the fields of the form by providing the relevant information required by following the on-screen instructions and pressing the appropriate buttons.
- After that, click the “Submit Application” button to submit the application and it will take you to the Payments page. Choose the payment that is appropriate and make the payment following the instructions on screen.
- After you have paid the application is complete and you will be issued with the application and reference numbers.
- You must bring all the documents that are required to be presented in order to obtain the Passport that you’ve filled out in your online and then go to the Passport office that you have chosen when you filled out your online registration.
- Visit the office and provide all required documents to the appropriate authority within the office. After submission, the applications along with the attached documents will be presented to be verified and validated.
- After verifying that the necessary requirements were properly supplied After confirming that the requirements have been met, officials proceed to carry out the next required action.
- When all the required steps are completed and your Passport document is available for collection You will be informed and asked to pick up the document.

- Introduction letter from Federal Ministry/Organization
- Evidence of marriage (if appropriate)
- Letter of appointment or recent promotion

- E-passport booklets that were used by Nigerian Republicans have been replaced with the latest Enhanced E-Passports to serve the purpose of increasing validity and enhancing features that were previously available.
Information that can be useful
- The Enhanced E-Passport is a part of the latest reforms that were approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It’s the result of thorough review of the E-passport booklet, which was in circulation for more than 10 years, and is only valid for 5 years.
- Adults have the option to choose from any of the three passport categories. Young children, however, who are younger than 18 years can choose between selecting between the categories 5 years passport only.
- A passport with a 10-year validity is not available to those who are under 18 years old, based on ICAO specifications , and also due to the expected changes in physical appearance.
