What are all the Eligibility

  • Anyone who is living in Nigeria seeking a teacher’s job who wants to start or progress into higher education for teachers through The National Teachers’ Institute could apply.
  • The applicants for this Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme must possess at least the First Degree (BA/B.Sc), Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent in languages basic sciences, social sciences or related disciplines with a minimum 2nd Class Lower Division or lower Credit.
  • Students enrolled in the Bachelors Degree Programme must possess Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with a merit of passing or (C) grade.
  • For NCE applicants, one of the following such as teachers’ Grade II Certificate (TC-II) (TC-II), Pivotal Teacher’s Certificate (PTC), WASC, National Examination Council Certificate, GCE, NABTEB Certificate or HISC is required.
  • Advanced Diploma in Education applicants need at minimum the NCE Certificate from a RECOGNIZED College of Education.
  • Pivotal Teacher Training Programme pursuant must have “O” standard with a at least two credits and three passes in the WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB and TC II referred, PTC Referred or HIS Certificate or similar qualifications.
