Eligibility

The following categories of applicants are eligible to applyfor:

  • Anyone born within The Bahamas to non-Bahamian parents is entitled by the Constitution to apply for registration as citizens from The Bahamas (Article 7) and is currently permanent resident living in The Bahamas.
  • A person who was born in a different country than The Bahamas to a Bahamian mother, who is legally married to a non-Bahamian Article 9.
  • A person who was born in a different country than The Bahamas to a Bahamian father who is an official resident in The Bahamas by virtue of Article 3 or 8 and is married with a non-Bahamian wife.
