  5. The site will redirect to the “Sign up” Page. Click on the button “Sign up”.
  6. The person applying for the account must provide an email address , as well as a password in order to create an account.
  7. After registering an applicant will be sent an email with confirmation.
  8. The applicant needs to click the confirmation link to confirm their account.
  9. The applicant is now able to begin using the system to complete an online application.
  10. The applicant has to fill out on the application form and submit along with the documents required according to the “Required Documents” section, on or before the 30th of April.
  11. The applicant should not miss any information, as incomplete documents are not accepted in The National Scholarship Committee.
  12. An applicant is informed on the outcome of the National Scholarship Committee by telephone via e-mail, post or telephone.

Documents Required

  • Copy of the relevant examination certificates and test results (AA, GCE, BGCSE, SAT, etc.)
  • Two letters of recommendation one from a professor at a high school or an employer, and the other from a leader in the community.
  • An acceptance copy
  • Current transcripts of the high school(s) or University of The Bahamas or other institutions
  • Copy from the four first pages in your passport, or a proof of your citizenship
  • An original copy of your current National Insurance Card
  • A short statement of not greater than 150 characters that outlines your future career goals, plans of returning back to The Bahamas and the contribution you’d like to contribute following the completion of your technical education.
  • Evidence of income from a parent/guardian (letter of employment signed by both parents/guardians and salary slip)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be an Bahamian citizen and the Bahamas residents, and be of moral character.
  • To be eligible to be considered for the National Technical Scholarship, you must be able to show an average GPA that is 2.5 (or an equivalent).
  • Financial Need: A look at the family’s income, in addition to any other awards such as scholarships, loans, or grants
  • Develop leadership skills and have a positive influence to the school and the local community.
  • Acceptance ofin an accredited accredited institution that is pursuing a regulated program of study.
  • You must not be the holder of any other Ministry of Education award/scholarship at the time of application.
  • Make sure you are pursuing at least 12 credits in a semester

Fees

There are no processing costs.

Validity

Insufficient performance, inability to enroll, inability to take on full course loads Bad behavior, inability to enrol, and any reason that is acceptable by any other reason acceptable to the National Scholarship Committee may result in the revocation of the scholarship at any point in time.
