Get Licence to Operate Abattoir or Processing Establishment In Jamaica By Yourself
- You must submit your application to the Veterinary Service Division (VSD), Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in order to be able operate an Abattoir or Processing Establishment. Below, you will find the contact information for the VSD and Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

- Please read the instructions carefully before you complete the form.
- All supporting documents must be prepared and attached to the application form in one file
- Attach a letter of inspection request detailing the details required for inspectors to inspect the Abattoir facility.
- Next, go to the VSD office. Pay the application fees at a cashier. Then submit your complete application to VSD service section with the payment receipt.
- A service official will review your application and issue an acknowledgment receipt.
- The VSD inspectors will inspect the facility on the inspection date to ensure compliance with all standards. They will then make a report based on the results.
- You will be notified by the inspector if there are any areas that need improvement within 14 days.
- The inspection team will then submit their due diligence reports to the veterinary committee. They will review your application, the report, and make a recommendation to the VSD whether or not to approve your application.
- The approval or denial of your application will be communicated to you in writing
- You will need to pay the full registration fee and operating certificate fees if your application is accepted.
- After payment, the certificate and license will be prepared and issued to your address
