The ministry of solid mineral has created a set of attractive incentives for potential investors into the solid minerals sector. These include:

  • Tax holiday for 3 to 5 years
  • Deferred royalty payments are dependent on the amount of investment and the strategic nature of the project.
  • Capitalization possible for exploration and survey expenditures
  • Provision of 100% foreign ownership in mining companies and concerns
  • Roll-over relief under capital gains tax (cgt) is available to companies that replace their plants and machinery. The first year, a 95% capital allowance will be granted. There will also be a 5% retention value up to the asset’s disposition.
