  1. Start by delivering your mineral(s) into the Department of Geological Survey (P.O Box 27, Zomba)
  2. The department of geological survey will determine its size and description, and then pack it in a sealed box that clearly identifies it clear on your parcel that you have your name along with the address and other details of the mineral that have been certified from the department.
  3. Then , visit to the Ministry of Natural Resources Environmental Affairs office, then visit Mines department.
  4. Contact the department’s service officer at the reception desk and ask for the application form for export and the Declaration form, then fill them in.
  5. Fill out the form and send all the necessary documents to the department’s mines officer for verification and to pay the application fee.
  6. In the event that an application appears legitimate, the department will send an inspector from Geological Survey department to examine the shipment
  7. The inspector will carry out the inspection, and based on the findings provide a recommendation for the value of the consignment and seals. The inspector will then give you the certificate of inspection.
  8. The department of mines via the commissioner decides whether or not to give the permits or not, and if the consignment is not placed in a storage facility.
  9. If they do to issue the export license by the commissioner on the basis of the inspection report that was submitted by the inspector
