How To Renew Driver License In Costa Rica
- Be sure to have all the documents included under”Required Documents. “Required documents” section.
- Find a license bureau closest to your home. The list of offices under the heading “Office Contacts and Locations” on this page.
- Visit the office, and you will be asked to take the medical examination.
- If they are satisfied with your eye test, you will be asked to pay for renewal of your driver’s license.
- Once the payment has been made, you will be asked to hold off. If your name is mentioned and you are issued with a new driver’s license.
Documents Required Renew Driver License
- Medical examination.
- A valid current passport OR the residency certificate OR temporary residency permit OR Peace Corps identification card OR refugee card OR rentista card OR any other document that establishes permanent residency status.
- Present Costa Rican license.
- If you are a Costa Rican citizen, you may renew your license at Banco de Costa Rica for no additional cost. This service is not offered to tourists or residents who are legal.
