Documents Required Pleasure Craft Licence

- A signed photocopy of a valid government-issued identification, for every owner whose name will be listed on the pleasure craft license. A valid piece of government-issued identification could be:
- a provincial/territorial birth certificate;
- A certificate of Canadian citizenship;
- a Canadian passport; or
- a provincial/territorial driver’s licence.
- Note: A provincial health card is not valid for evidence of identity.
- Non-residents can utilize valid government-issued identification issued by their home country
- A copy of the bill sale or any other evidence of ownership. A proof of ownership document or bill of sale should contain the following information:
- the name of the business, address and the signature of a representative from the company , or the complete names, addresses and signatures of previous owners
- date of sale
- Name, address and the signature of the new owner’s name, address, and signature
- Description of the craft (make model, make and other details noted in the form);
- Hull Serial Number (HIN) or Compliance Label Number (if available); and
- pleasure craft license # (if you are already licensed)
- A current, full-color side-view photo from the leisure craft. The photo of the vessel must satisfy the following criteria:
- Minimum of minimum” minimum 4″ X 6″ Full-side view color photo of your pleasure boat (photo should be crisp);
- excellent lighting conditions good lighting conditions
- The boat shouldn’t be surrounded by vessels.
