Why are electrons important?

It is the valence atoms that react with other atoms. This is the outer energy level, which wants to gain or loose electrons in order to create a full or complete energy level. On this basis, elements can be more or less reactive depending on how they are made. Helium, for example, has a full-energy level and is non reactive. Fluorine, which only needs one electron to reach its full energy level, is very reactive.

Certain elements have electrons that can easily jump from one atom to the next to create an electric flow. This is how electricity can be created.

Otherwise, electrons will not exist.
