Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited was established under the 1956 Indian Companies Act. BHEL is a Schedule’A’ Maharatna CPSE and today it is the largest Indian engineering company. BHEL serves core industries such as Power, Transmission, Industry, Transportation, (including Railways), Defence, Petrochemicals, Steel, Cement, Fertilizers, and many others. There are 17 manufacturing plants, 8 service centers and 4 regional Power Sector centers. Additionally, there are many regional offices and project sites scattered throughout India. It has a presence in over 70 countries around the globe and has a net profit exceeding Rs 1314 Crores. In 2014-15, it also had a turnover of Rs 30806Crores.
