     Information that can be useful

     • In accordance with the Manual Scavengers Act and their Rehabilitation Act 2013, any person who is involved in scavenging in any way, through direct contact or in indirect ways, could be punished by imprisonment of for up to 2 years, or fine , or both.
     • In the Act the protection equipment like gumboots masks, gloves as well as soap and a disinfectant such as Dettol must be provided each month to the employees.
     • If the employees don’t have this equipment, don’t let them work, instead call the contractor.
