Eligibility
- It is required that the applicant be aged 21 or above on the date of application.
- The applicant is a citizen of the Federal Republic for a time that is not shorter than 10 consecutive years within 12 years, inclusive of all 12 months prior to the date of the application
- It is mandatory to remain permanently within the Federation for the duration of their stay.
- Should possess good character
- You must have a good understanding about the Malay language
- The applicant must be sponsored by two people who are citizens of 21 and over and are not related to the applicant and not employed persons and are not solicitors or advocates to the applicant.
Fee
- Application cost – RM 10.00
- The cost for citizenship certificate to be issued to those who reside in the Federation during Independence Day, 31 August 1957 (if the application is approved) — RM 200.00
- The cost for issuance of a Citizenship Certificates to applicants who were who do not reside in the Federation during Independence Day, 31 August 1957 (if it is approved) (if approved) RM 300.00
