Eligibility

  • You must have been born within the Federation (excluding Sabah and Sarawak) prior to Independence Day
  • The applicant must be aged 18 or over on the date of application
  • Must have been in the federation for the seven years prior to the time of application, for an entire time of at least five years.
  • Should have the intention of residing for a long time within the federation.
  • Should possess good character
  • You must possess at minimum an elementary understanding of Malay language

Fees

  • Application fee RM 10.00
  • Cost for issuance of Citizenship Certificate (if it is approved) (if approved) – RM 100.00

Documents to Utilize

  • Form A (which can be obtained from the Putrajaya NRD headquarters or state NRD headquarters/branches)
  • Forms for birth registration in a different country as well as the renunciation of citizenship can be obtained from consulates in foreign countries.
