Apply for Company Tax Clearing Certificate(TCC) In Uganda By Online

Apply on-line 1.
Begin by logging into uganda Revenue Authority Portal. Visit the URA website Uganda Revenue Authority and sign in to your account.


Step 2.
In the e-services section, click tax Clearance Certificate or Select Clearance certificate. Then click on the Tax clearance certificate (TCC) icon to submit a request for the Tax Clearance Certificate
Step 3.
In the tab that opens, select your type of TCC you want to use, either annual or Transactional TCC.
When the request is made for an annual TCC record the tax period during which clearance is required. If the application is for the transaction TCC then you must include the following information;

  • Contact information for the addressee, including the TIN, name business name, address number, and email address
  • The reason why the TCC is needed
  • Period of taxation to which TCC is a part of (cannot be a period that is past)
  • Select the method of payment (cash or cheque/RTGS)

Hit submit after you have completed all mandatory fields.
5. After submission, an acknowledgement receipt will be generated to print and send an email with the same information sent to the email address you registered.

URA will review your application and , upon approval, you will receive an email with a confirmation and an attachment to tax Clearance Certificate.

Apply in-person:

  1. Visit the Office of Uganda Revenue Authority to fill out the application.
  2. Bring and show the required documents to the Revenue officer.These documents are listed in the section on required documents on this page. They include:
    1. Tax Identification Certificate;
    2. Income proof
    3. Audited accounts.
    4. Certificate of registration for business;
  3. You will receive the Tax Clearance Certificate application form to fill out.
  4. Tax revenue officers will review the application and decide on the tax due.
  5. A revenue agent will guide your to the cashier so that you can pay taxes due, as well as the fee for the Tax Clearance Certificate
  6. If you pay any tax due, you will be issued an Tax Clearance Certificate for your company. Clearance certificate.

Note:

  1. Annual TCCs can be issued to taxpayers who have been monitored for a minimum of 3 (3) consecutive years.
  2. In this scenario you will be informed via email, containing the attached TCC and rejection letter
  3. For transactional TCCs both the applicant and the addressee both will be notified via the attached TCC or the rejection notice.
  4. Reasons for approval or reject and an account of the reason for approval or rejection should be recorded as set out in the procedure
  5. A response to an TCC application submitted by a taxpayer should be submitted within two working days from the date of acceptance of the tax return

Required Document For Apply for Company Tax Clearing Certificate

  • The profile of registration for the tax payer must be current
  • The tax payer must have filed all taxes for the tax registered types.
  • For non-individuals The associated persons (directors and partners) must have filed all of their tax returns
  • The return that is submitted must be in good order
  • Taxes due to must be and paid to the taxpayer, or there is an Memorandum of Understanding to pay through instruments

Eligibility

Persons(tax taxpayers) who qualify for TCCs include:

  • Those Providing passenger transport services
  • The companies that provide freight transport services in which the vehicle used can carry a capacity of greater than 2 tons
  • The ones who provide warehousing, forwarding and clearing services
  • People who supply goods or services to Government or
  • Anyone who transfers funds in excess of the 2,500 currency points of Uganda to an area outside Uganda.
  • People who may want to get certificates as proof that they have complied with their taxes.

OR

  • Anyone who conducts any tax-deductible transaction can apply for a tax clearance certificate.

Fees

  • The fees are usually based on the amount the company earns.

Validity

  • Compliance Certificates for Tax Compliance The certificates are valid for 12 months.

  • 2 working days

The Information You Need

The full name as well as other pertinent information of the applicant or registered person;

  • Tax Identification Number (TIN);
  • Time frame for return submission;
  • The amount of tax-deductible income;
  • The amount of tax-related income that must be recorded;
