How To Apply for Driver License In Cambodia
- Visit for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport office.
- Complete an application form.
- Complete the application form with all the necessary documents.
- Pay the fee.

What Are All The Eligibility
The age of drivers has to be determined by the forms of licenses for drivers in the following manner:
- Minimum age of 16 for the type A1.
- Minimum 18 years old to be eligible for types A2 and A.
- At least age 22 to be eligible for type C and D1.
Minimum of 24 years old for types D2 as well as E.
Validity
- The Type A and B driver’s licenses are valid until holders turn 65. However, they have to undergo the medical examination and extend the license every five years.
- Type C D and E driver’s licenses are valid 3 years. The license holder is required to extend the validity each three years following a check on their health to confirm that they are fit to drive.
- Drivers who hold all types of driving licenses they are 65 years old or and above, should have a health checks every two years. They should also extend the validity of their driving license every two years.
Instructions
- The driving licenses of all kinds are given by Ministry of Public Works and Transport. Ministry of Interior or Ministry of National Defense issues the driving licenses for drivers of vehicles that are specially designed to work in particular areas of expertise like tanks, armored vehicles, military-equipped vehicles, racing vehicles tricycles, convoy motorbikes that are property of the state.
- There are five types of driving licenses for motor vehicles in Cambodia. Kingdom of Cambodia as follows:
- The Type A is for motorcycles and tricycles
- A1 – for the motorcycle with the size of the cylindrical range from 49 to 125cm3.
- A2 – For motorcycles with a diameter of more than the 125cm3 limit.
- The trailers are the vehicles that carry tricycles.
- Type B:
- The vehicles that transport passengers, there is no limit to the number of passengers, including the driver.
- The loading vehicles for goods that have a the maximum weight of not exceeding 3.5 tons.
- The car in the B type can pull trailers for a total weight of not exceeding 0.75 tons.
- Type C: For cargo loading vehicles that have a the weight of at least 3.5 tons. They could have trailers that total weight of not exceeding 0.75 tons.
- Type D Type D: Passenger Vehicles:
- D1 – For vehicles that load passengers between 10 and 20 people including the driver. They could include trailers that have a total weight not exceeding 0.75 tons.
- D2 – for vehicles with more than 20 passengers , including the driver, and may be equipped with a trailer with a maximum weight of not exceeding 0.75 tons.
- Type E: vehicles that fall under the categories of Type C, B, and D, with trailers that excess of 0.75 tons, the trailers must be divided into three types: the Type E (B) Type E (C) and Type E (D).
